National Flag of Honduras

After 45 years of Independence, Honduras had a National Flag, and during the first years Honduras used the same flag that represented the Republic of the Federal Confederacy, which was formed by the five Central American nations.

On February 16, 1886, the National Congress issued decree number 7 which established the National Flag. It is composed by three equal horizontal stripes, whereby the upper and lower stripes are turquoise blue and the middle stripe is white with five blue turquoise stars in the middle.
